Zora Neale Hurston manipulates her plot by using brief scenes of conflict between Janie and men of wealth, in order to show the challenges Janie has with these domineering men. Hurston uses these conflicts to eventually illustrate how Janie's dream will ultimately not revolve around material wealth.
I think TeaCake may not apply to this thesis, because im not sure if he was very rich. but otherwise its a chill thesis my man.

This is definitely a solid topic to work with. Specifying what kind of conflict may enhance the thesis, unless you would include both external and internal. Did Janie's dream change as the story go along, or is it her happiness that does not revolve around material wealth?
